What does an epoxy flooring company actually do?
An epoxy flooring crew turns bare or worn concrete into a sealed, colored, easy-to-clean surface. The coating itself is only part of the job. Most of the work that decides whether a floor lasts happens before the first coat goes down: grinding off old paint and sealers, opening the pores of the concrete, filling cracks and pits, and checking the slab for moisture.
On an estimate visit we look at the slab, test a spot for moisture, point out cracks and spalling, and talk through the finish you want. Then we give you one price that covers prep, materials, and cleanup. If the slab has a problem that would make a coating fail, we tell you before you spend money on it.
People hire us instead of using a store kit because kits skip the grinding step. Without a mechanical profile, a thin roll-on coating usually lifts under hot tires within a year or two.
What floor coatings do we install in Antioch?
Most calls are for the jobs below. Each one has its own page with more detail.
Garage floors
Our most common job is epoxy coatings for garage floors, usually finished with decorative flake systems that hide dust and add grip. If you want the floor back in use fast, we also offer one-day polyaspartic coatings.
Showpiece and bare-concrete finishes
For a floor with depth and movement, we pour metallic epoxy finishes. If you would rather keep the look of concrete, polished concrete floors are ground and densified with no coating to peel.
Businesses, repairs, and sealing
We install epoxy floors for shops and businesses that need to handle carts and cleaning. When an older floor is peeling, we handle repairing a failing coating the right way, and for patios and driveways we apply penetrating concrete sealers.
Why do garage floors wear out so fast here?
Concrete floors in Antioch take a beating for a few local reasons.
- Weather. Antioch gets long triple-digit stretches in summer and steady wind off the river, so garage slabs get hot and dusty.
- The homes themselves. A lot of homes along the Lone Tree Way corridor and in southeast Antioch were built in the 1990s and 2000s with three-car garages and big open slabs.
- How garages get used. Those extra bays usually hold a boat, a work truck, or a full home gym, so the floor carries heavy loads.
- Older slabs. Clay soils here swell and shrink with the seasons, which shows up as cracks in garage slabs that have to be filled before coating.
Bare concrete is porous, so it soaks up oil, dust, and moisture. A properly bonded coating seals the surface, so spills sit on top and wipe off.
What does epoxy flooring cost?
Price depends mostly on the size of the floor, how much prep the slab needs, and the system you pick. A plain one-color coat costs less than a full flake broadcast with a clear topcoat, and a metallic pour costs more than either. Crack repair, removing old paint, and moisture-blocking primers add to the price.
- Square footage. A one-car garage and a three-car garage are very different jobs.
- Slab condition. Deep cracks, pitting, and old coatings mean more grinding and patching.
- System. Solid color, flake, metallic, or polyaspartic topcoats each have their own material cost.
- Moisture. Damp slabs need a vapor-blocking primer before the color coat.

What should you expect on install day?
Clear the garage or room the day before if you can. We grind the floor with dust collection attached, fill cracks, vacuum, and then roll the coats. Most garage jobs take one to two days, plus time before you park on it. Fresh coatings have a smell while they cure, so we keep doors open and ask that you keep kids and pets out. If you want to read more about fumes from coatings, see the EPA's guide to VOCs and indoor air.
Where do we work?
We serve homes and businesses across Antioch, CA, including Rivertown, southeast Antioch, and the Lone Tree Way area. Auto shops and small businesses near Rivertown and along the main commercial strips need floors that resist oil and hose down easily.
Epoxy flooring FAQs
How long does an epoxy garage floor last?
A ground, properly primed floor with a good topcoat usually lasts many years in a home garage. Most early failures come from skipped prep or moisture in the slab, which is why we spend most of the job on those steps.
Will hot tires lift the coating?
Hot-tire pickup happens when a thin coating is rolled onto concrete that was never ground. We grind every floor so the coating bonds into the concrete, not just onto it.
Is an epoxy floor slippery?
A smooth, glossy coat can be slick when wet. Flake broadcasts add texture, and we can mix in an anti-slip additive for garages, ramps, and work areas.
How soon can I park on it?
Foot traffic is usually fine the next day. Cars need a few more days on standard epoxy, and about a day on polyaspartic. We give you exact times for your system.
